Fine Art Print - Chrysler Building New York street scene, 1940s

from €39.00
Size:

A Midtown morning beneath the Chrysler Building.

On a busy New York sidewalk in the 1940s, a group of sharply dressed men and women share a laugh while the Chrysler Building rises dramatically between the surrounding towers. Briefcases and handbags rest at their feet as pedestrians stream past, turning an ordinary moment outside the office into a lively portrait of mid-century Manhattan.

The contrast is what gives this image its charm: monumental Art Deco architecture towering above a small, spontaneous human moment below. Wool overcoats, fedoras, polished shoes and crowded sidewalks evoke the rhythm of working New York during an era when Midtown was rapidly becoming the commercial heart of the city.

Rather than presenting the Chrysler Building as an isolated architectural landmark, the scene places it within the everyday life that surrounded it: a city of workers, commuters, friendships and chance conversations.

    • 17 mil / 0.43 mm thickness
    • 100% cotton rag
    • Acid-free and archival grade

  • Each print is produced using professional Canon giclée printing technology with aqueous pigment inks.

The printing equipment is regularly color calibrated to provide accurate reproduction, rich blacks, strong contrast and a wide color gamut.

Pigment-based inks provide excellent longevity and are designed to resist fading for many years when the print is properly displayed and cared for.

  • Each print features a clean white border surrounding the artwork, creating a refined, gallery-inspired presentation.

The width of the border varies depending on the selected print size and the proportions of the artwork.

The size selected refers to the overall paper size, including the white border.

  • Our collection is designed to capture the distinctive look and atmosphere of historical photography. As part of this aesthetic, individual images may intentionally feature characteristics commonly associated with older photographic materials, including:

    • Film grain
    • Soft focus or blur
    • Scratches and dust marks
    • Fading and exposure variations
    • Reduced sharpness or fine detail
    • Simulated photographic wear
    • Other vintage-style imperfections

These characteristics are intentional elements of the artwork and are not printing defects. They may become more noticeable when an image is ordered in a larger print size.

Each image is carefully prepared for printing while preserving its intended vintage appearance. Please review the product images carefully before purchasing, as the amount of grain, softness and visible wear varies from image to image.

  • Colors, contrast, brightness and tones in the finished print may vary slightly from what you see on your screen due to differences in monitors, phones, screen brightness and individual display settings.

Lifestyle and room images may be used to demonstrate approximate scale, presentation and overall style. Please refer to the selected print size for its actual dimensions.
