Fine Art Print - Dock Workers in DUMBO, 1930s

from €39.00
Size:

Working Brooklyn beneath the towers of the Manhattan Bridge.

Three laborers pause beside the cobblestone tracks, one playfully lifting a wooden crate above his head while his companions look on. Nearby, a well-dressed woman carrying shopping bags moves through a busy streetscape of delivery trucks, horse-drawn wagons and the everyday traffic of an industrial Brooklyn neighborhood.

Towering above the scene is the Manhattan Bridge, framed between the massive warehouse buildings associated with what is now DUMBO. Through the bridge structure, the distant Manhattan skyline adds another layer to the dense urban landscape.

Industry, transportation and ordinary street life come together beneath one of New York’s great engineering landmarks, capturing the hardworking character and energy of prewar Brooklyn.

About Your Fine Art Print

  • Each artwork is professionally printed in the USA on Hot Press Smooth Matte Fine Art Paper, a premium archival-grade paper designed for high-quality photographic and fine-art reproduction.

Made from 100% cotton rag, the paper has a smooth, very lightly textured surface and a refined matte finish without the shine or reflections associated with glossy photographic paper.

    Paper specifications:

    • 330 gsm heavyweight fine art paper
    • 17 mil / 0.43 mm thickness
    • 100% cotton rag
    • Acid-free and archival grade
    • Neutral white
    • Smooth, very lightly textured surface
    • Matte finish

  • Each print is produced using professional Canon giclée printing technology with aqueous pigment inks.

The printing equipment is regularly color calibrated to provide accurate reproduction, rich blacks, strong contrast and a wide color gamut.

Pigment-based inks provide excellent longevity and are designed to resist fading for many years when the print is properly displayed and cared for.

  • Each print features a clean white border surrounding the artwork, creating a refined, gallery-inspired presentation.

The width of the border varies depending on the selected print size and the proportions of the artwork.

The size selected refers to the overall paper size, including the white border.

  • Our collection is designed to capture the distinctive look and atmosphere of historical photography. As part of this aesthetic, individual images may intentionally feature characteristics commonly associated with older photographic materials, including:

    • Film grain
    • Soft focus or blur
    • Scratches and dust marks
    • Fading and exposure variations
    • Reduced sharpness or fine detail
    • Simulated photographic wear
    • Other vintage-style imperfections

These characteristics are intentional elements of the artwork and are not printing defects. They may become more noticeable when an image is ordered in a larger print size.

Each image is carefully prepared for printing while preserving its intended vintage appearance. Please review the product images carefully before purchasing, as the amount of grain, softness and visible wear varies from image to image.

  • Colors, contrast, brightness and tones in the finished print may vary slightly from what you see on your screen due to differences in monitors, phones, screen brightness and individual display settings.

Lifestyle and room images may be used to demonstrate approximate scale, presentation and overall style. Please refer to the selected print size for its actual dimensions.

  • Watermarks and Urban Archive Co. branding appearing in listing or preview images are used solely for image protection.

Your finished print will contain no watermarks, logos or visible Urban Archive Co. branding.

Some lifestyle and display images may be used to demonstrate scale, framing or presentation. Your finished print will feature the artwork selected in this listing.

  • Each print is professionally produced, carefully packaged and shipped from the United States.

Smaller prints may be shipped flat in protective packaging, while larger prints may be securely rolled and shipped in a mailing tube to help protect them during transit.

  • Handle your print with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the printed surface unnecessarily.

For maximum longevity, keep the print away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive humidity and moisture.
