Fine Art Print - Sailor at Rockefeller Center Observation Deck, 1940s

from €39.00
Size:

A sailor celebrates high above the streets of 1940s Manhattan.

From the observation deck of Rockefeller Center, a young sailor throws his arms wide as the New York skyline stretches endlessly behind him. Visitors crowd the deck in coats, hats and uniforms, creating a lively scene high above Midtown Manhattan.

The Chrysler Building rises prominently in the distance among the dense architecture of the city. Yet it is the sailor’s exuberant pose that gives the image its personality, transforming a sweeping skyline view into a spontaneous moment of youth, excitement and optimism.

With its combination of an iconic Manhattan panorama and an unmistakably human moment, the scene captures the energy and character of mid-century New York from one of its most celebrated viewpoints.

Pigment-based inks provide excellent longevity and are designed to resist fading for many years when the print is properly displayed and cared for.

  • Each print features a clean white border surrounding the artwork, creating a refined, gallery-inspired presentation.

The width of the border varies depending on the selected print size and the proportions of the artwork.

The size selected refers to the overall paper size, including the white border.

  • Our collection is designed to capture the distinctive look and atmosphere of historical photography. As part of this aesthetic, individual images may intentionally feature characteristics commonly associated with older photographic materials, including:

    • Film grain
    • Soft focus or blur
    • Scratches and dust marks
    • Fading and exposure variations
    • Reduced sharpness or fine detail
    • Simulated photographic wear
    • Other vintage-style imperfections

These characteristics are intentional elements of the artwork and are not printing defects. They may become more noticeable when an image is ordered in a larger print size.

Each image is carefully prepared for printing while preserving its intended vintage appearance. Please review the product images carefully before purchasing, as the amount of grain, softness and visible wear varies from image to image.
